bump, anything? I can't get this thing to sound good, I have to undo the cobra service bulletin. I have the schematic for the Washington, but the radio doesn't have r204, a 10 ohm 2 watt, instead there is a 47 ohm from base to ground of the final.

Ok guys/ I received 10 EL509's to convert the phantom, 1 broke during shipping. My question now is, can I use 4 6lq6's for the drivers, and use 6 EL509's in the final stage? I have 5 good 6lq6's, and 9 good EL509's. After the holidays and in the new year I'll get some other tubes.

revisiting this thread, I just found some service bulletins for the 139xlr, it has you remove a few parts because the final and or driver keep blowing, my driver blew like 3 times. After reading, the bulletin says 15mA for the final, 40 mA for the driver. I think this mod was done to the...

I seen that review, thank you. But I was more curious to if someone could give their own opinion i guess. I have a 8719 chassis, and 858 chassis, and a ept3600 chassis, and I like them all.

I have a guy that has one of these. I don't know alot about them. I read somewhere the are the same board as the other cobras with the 8719 pll, but without that chip and it could be put in there to get the channels. I guess I am asking is if all the mods you would do on a 148gtl or similar...

I have to set the meter up in there to verify the current staying in check, but, so far I have been rapping on it and getting good report. I have the bias fix in place also. The duck for the fans sounds like a great idea!
