    WHATS THE POINT re, QT40

I bought one. I did the jumper conversion to CB. What's the point of the software if that jumper move is all it takes to make the conversion. I don't want it to do repeaters. Also, the thing returns to receive after unkeying the mic very slowly... radio seems to work in sloth mode. Plain...

    Interesting Antenna Height Question...

I realize that anecdotal proofs carry very little weight in more science backed discussions, but I nevertheless value them as evidences when they corroborate science (not withstanding anomalies sometimes show up). About 4 years ago a fellow CB operator 4 blocks from me who had mounted his A99...

Fast and Easy 11 meter 1/2ʎ

Thanks, but it doesn't take being a master. Just get the pieces and screw them together. I was going to do a simpler crappie fishing pole/aluminum tube vertical dipole, but broke my last fishing pole too short. I've repaired it, but don't need it now.

Fast and Easy 11 meter 1/2ʎ

While a 1/2ʎ vertical doesn't raise too many eyebrows in an antenna building environment of cool and exotic, this one is the first 11m antenna I've thrown together in a very long time. Why? Background: My neighbor has long wanted a CB station, but the wife said, "No!" Now, her sudden passing 7...

Do we need the hoop on a sigma4/vector4000

Thanks! For future projects that is interesting to know if hoop materials are scarce. I look forward to your current project report. The only thing I've done recently is throwing together an 11 meter 1/2ʎ antenna for a neighbor to use until he buys one after New Years.

Hey, Bob. Did you ever get this project done? Curious to hear about your results.

    What antenna is this.

Thanks for the reply. I am familiar with those "Fire-Up" Firestick top sections many replaced the Antron top section with. I have one in my shed I've never used. What this one has is a 6' long stainless steel rod inside the removable fiberglass shell of the top section. There is a set screw...

Yep. Me, too. Wasn't familiar with that combination.

    What antenna is this.

I did. The antenna is shot inside. No where is resonant. I figured it out. It's a Tram 1498 1/2ʎ 11 meter antenna.

    What antenna is this.

As you may know, I spent most of my time making antennas, and those few I've store bought were the old standards, A99, Imax, Sirius GP2745, Astroplane, etc. I have one in possession that looks very similar to the A99, tuning rings, three sections 18.5' long, AND has an adjustable length...

I have wanted to build one of these for quite a long time, but haven't. Now I no longer have an SUV... but I one day may find some time and scratch the itch.
