That is pretty neat! Do you know what Cybernet board number is in that radio? I was going to try and compare it to other radios. From what I understand, most Cybernet boards need a power mic behind it. Otherwise, there is almost no modulation without literally yelling up close into the mic...

Hello and Happy Easter! I have a few General Electric 3-5813B radios that may need some TLC. Sam's Photofact 235 has it. If you have Sams 235 and when you are able to, can you please scan the alignment as well as the schematic. (I am curious to look over the audio amplifier to see if it falls...

Now I am on the hunt. The powered mic versions of the General Electric radio can sound good, but one has to basically be up very close to the mic. The one I do have now is a GE 3-5813B. I dont have a schematic on hand or know what exactly I am looking for, but I wonder if it has the same issue...

Just like that, found one in decent shape (At least on the pictures) on eBay for a whopping $25 free shipping (not including taxes.) Purchased. :) With that being said, was a bad capacitor the main culprit this entire time? would leaving the resistors alone still be ok after a recap?

Hello, I do have a some Motorola 2n6124 transistors that I have used in a couple of my TRC-465 radios. I was wondering if a better alternative is the TIP42C? Unless the TIP42C is not ideal to use as the AM regulator. Thanks on any input regarding this. Hope ya'll have been doing well.

Wonder if Google is planting all of that in Nevada. They bought a BIG chunk of land many years ago. (Circa 2017?). Reason I know this is because at the end of a work day, some rock crushing equipment got moved just off the side of the road onto some bare land... Not even half hour later or so...

Hello Dan. There is a gentlemen here as well as myself in need of a Cobra 89 GTL service manual, which is in Sam's CB-235. If you don't have that one, I believe CB-217 has the Cobra 29 GTL in it, which should be the same board inside the 89 GTL. (It very well might be a Cobra 25 GTL board, but...

I believe the service manual of a Cobra 25 or 29 GTL would work just fine as the 89 GTL is just either a 25 or 29 GTL board inside a case.

Why I will stay at 28.300 to 28.500. Not going to exclude Technician operators from talking to me. :)

I am going to try to haul back the two Imax 2000 antennas I have. One was given to me around 2017. The 2nd one was from a lot of radios I picked up around the same time. One could use some help in protecting the fiber glass, but may as well do the same on the other one that is in better shape...
