I would run this radio wide open into a straght 4 pill. Choking this radio down to a 20 watt peak is a waist of power. Let the dragon breath...lol

I would not run this radio into a 1 x 4 amp. Too many peak watts even if you turn the dead key of the radio down.

I would look for a amp that will take a bigger dead key. A ft101e is a little too hot for a Palomar 300a in my opinion.

I believe the OEM A99 may have a capacitor inside to make it electrically longer. I know Imax 2000 does.But I could be wrong.
