If you have extra weight on the front and / or bigger tires, the above needle bearing modification is a must.

Another big improvement to the steering can be had for less than $10. Needle thrust bearings can be put between the axle beam and the spindles. Often called "Poor man's power steering". Make sure you measure yours to get the right diameter, mine was 3/4 inch. Link below: 4 Sets NTA1220+2TRA...

The steering wheel that comes on these things is a giant plastic piece of crap. The plastic hub strips out... The old Dynamark donated to the cause. Drilled a hole through the wheel hub and the shaft for a 1/4 20 bolt.

The factory did not do a good job on the steering geometry either. It would turn sharp to the left, but not to the right. The solution is to move the hole that the drag link hooks to. Years ago I looked for a way to fix this, but could not come up with anything simple. Now today I looked at it...

Well, the fix broke. So it was time to fix the fix. A second J bolt keeps the other side tight, and the teeth between the steering shaft pinion and the sector gear meshed snugly.
