Thanks guys. I really appreciate this help. I have found a few 6LQ6's on ebay for a reasonable price and I might just get those for now and do the conversion later. I had a KLV350 once and it would put out a little over 300 watts. Isn't that a little more than 2 6LQ6's would do or are they about...
Jerry,
The Diamond NR-770HA is a 2m/70cm antenna that was designed to work with a very small ground plane like a mirror mount on a big truck. i picked up a used one and am going to put it on the dump truck. I have talked to 2 Hams that are truck drivers and this is the antenna that they...
Just a little question to ponder. My opinion is that without CB Ham radio would not be nearly as popular as it is. Many many Hams get there start in CB, maybe move into freebanding, then decide to get the ticket. I've done a lot of reading on QRZ and it makes me sick to hear some of the things...
I need to know the wiring code on a Magnum 257 microphone to the mic cord. Not the mic plug wiring, just the wiring code to hook the stock mic back to the stock cord. If you've got a 257 and wouldn't mind taking the mic apart to tell me how to wire it back up it would be greatly appreciated...

Jerry,
Great to see you on here now and then. I need you to ask your tech about a squelch mod for my 140. Hope to catch you on the radio when the conditions come in between CO and IN. Catch you later my friend.

Matt,
Yes the final in the radio could be bad. Every thing else is OK just low power? It still modulates and sounds the same? Then it probably is the final. A 2SC1969 is a replacemant. If you need one let me know as I have a bunch.

Most HF radios were designed to be SSB rigs, AM is not one of their strong suits. I don't know what you expect out of an AM rig. Your friends Kenwood would do much better if the AM filter was installed, that would help a whole bunch. How to help a FT 1000 I am not sure. You can experiment with...
