    Cobra 29NH ST

Thanks Switch. I'll try it and see. BTW, I found out the "NH" is Night Hawk, as opposed to Night Watch. You do not see very many of them I guess.

    Cobra 29NH ST

Also, this radio does actually say 29 NH ST. Not 29 NW ST. Is this a printing error, or is there a NH version. It is a Nightwatch Soundtracker radio.

    Cobra 29NH ST

Hey all. I have a Cobra 29NH ST that has an intermittent problem. It will drift out and have no receive or TX, at ALL. No dk or swing at all. Only a very slight hum from the speaker. Then out of nowhere it will have both RX & TX. I have all the documentation for alignment and tweaking and...

    DX959 No audio out

I am just remembering this post, sorry for the long delay in replying. I tried the single final mod after I was having problems and it is working fine now, although not near 40 watts. I do agree that it was most likely something I did as opposed to a bad part. Even though I did re-check all...

    70,000 watts WOAH

How true! You never know. Maybe you didn't see that 2/0 extension cord running to the main service of the building. :P

    70,000 watts WOAH

I know, I was pretty much joking about the pic. I am amazed at what some guys do to their rigs just to stand still. BTW, where did the pic go???

    70,000 watts WOAH

Might look something like this? I totally agree! I don't get it!! I'd rather put that much effort into forward motion than sitting still screwing up anything electronic within 2 miles.

    Radio Shack Scanners

I have seen that about GRE. Who are they?

    VHF wide open!!!

From over 100 miles upstate my scanner is FULL of NYC traffic in the 154's.

    Radio Shack Scanners

Most R-S scanners are Uniden made. They are as good or better than most. I have a PRO-2051. It is basically a re-badged Uniden BCT8. http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Pro-2051

WARNING, Don't Carry a Scanner into Michigan!!!

Well since this is back up after 5 years I'll add something. NY is the same way. NO scanners in vehicles....unless you are a Ham or EMT, FD, etc.

    CB Antenna and Sirius Order

The shop you went to is a joke then. Worse than wal-mart. The 25 is a great radio. Get you a Wilson 1000 and have at it.

    Maco V58

Like I said, I would not feel right trying to return it. I already got and put up the A99. I'm having a hard time getting the SWR right. Even with the rings bottomed out the SWR is still uneven and kind of high. The best I could do was about 1.4/1.6 on ch40 & ch1. There is aluminum siding...

    Maco V58

Thanks Switch and Master for the help. The small shop I got the antenna from is a real nice older guy. I would feel guilty asking him to take back something I already installed because of my error. Yeah, I'd hate to trade down also. We'll see how it plays out. Maybe the wife and neighbors...

    Maco V58

Yeah, I had NO idea those radials were that long! The pic does not do it justice. If it were 40' up I would not care, but it is only about 20' to the bottom of the antenna and it is right in my back yard. I am in a quiet residential neighborhood and I can imagine what my wife and the neighbors...

    Maco V58

I just installed a new Maco V58. For aesthetic reasons I am wondering if I can run this antenna without the ground radials? Will this harm my radio?
