I know this is an old thread but since it has been revived, there is an excellent commercially available adapter called a Comet AD-35M SO-239 to 3/8X24 Adapter. I believe MFJ also has a version of this (MFJ-7710) that looks identical.
Sorry after looking again this appears to be the wrong gender.
Just an update... Tom Charles sent me an email with a correction to spacing between the 1st and 2nd directors, it is 44" not the 45" he previously stated. Now if I could just find out what the conflicting information is all about on the 2nd director length I would feel better about the assembly...
The saga continues...
Response from Tom Charles of Gizmotchy antenna's as follows
Reflector element 109
Driven element 105
1st director 100
2nd director 99
The rule of thumb for Gizmotchy antennas is after the first director shorten each on...
Not wishing to hijack the Sirio GM thread with Gizmotchy trivia but to answer your question... no nothing specific, either some love them or others are skeptical. I posted in the thread for the unfinished review that Happy Hamer was doing that I was a little concerned that it appears it was...
I am with ya there... researched Gizmotchy beams for months now and being the nostalgic kind of guy I am was seriously wanting to try them out. now after reading what seemed like hundreds of different opinions from folks that think they are only mediocre to others that think they are the best...

I am confident that I could tweak...
Sounds like a good deal on the 300 watt tuber but I am afraid momma would shoot me if another package shows up at the door...lol!
Just looking to get a little more out of the Galaxy to cut thru the local trash, was thinking a swing of 45-50 should be possible will the dual finals and would be...
Question on the Dual final mod for the Galaxy DX2547 with IRF520 mosfet...
All the info I am finding on this is for replacing 2SC1969 transistors with ERF2030 mosfets, My radio came stock with the single IRF520 mosfet, would like info (details) on converting this specific setup to dual mosfet...
A couple questions for the experts...
My month old (stock) Galaxy DX2547 dropped from the factory 4 watt output on high to 1 watt seemingly overnight for no obvious reason. I am running an IMAX 2000 with a 1:1 swr pretty much accross the band. I was not going to open this radio as long as it...
I searched the web and several forums and never came up with an answer so hopefully somebody here knows the answer... What size mast will the Imax 2000 mounting clamps accept in it's stock form?
My tower will accept a maximum of 1-1/2", will I have to buy new clamps and modify the Imax...
