Thanks, There's a Yaesu FT-1802 for 2 meters, and a Kenwood TS-680s for 6 through 160 meters. The tuner is an MFJ-941E, and I power them with a 25 amp RS power supply. The HF antenna is a diploe, and for 2 mts, I have a j pole.
Seems like on this web site some of the pages come up wider than my screen, and I have to pan left, and right to read some posts. It only happens on this site so it seems like it's probably the site. I'm wondering if it's just me. And is there somthing I can change to avoid this.
Thanks
Also I believe you can take the general for free after you pass the tech, at least that's how it was for me. So being prepared for the general might pay off. I did not know this when I went for my tech, so I did not study the general at all, and wasted the opportunity. Good luck
Somthing that I did before I got my ticket that was fun, and informative was tuned in the local 2 meter repeaters on my scanner. If you have a scanner, do an internet search for
2 meter reapeters in your state. Punch the freq in your scanner and see what you get. Just a thought.
I have a 2800 in my mobile as well. For the money you can't beat it. And once you get used to the menu it's not to bad to program. Congrats and enjoy.

The one on Jims Antique Radio Museum page is the one I have. I'll try checking with Jim, and see if he can answer some of my questions.
Thanks for the help.
