IIRC, most r/c air channels are FM channels. In the past, the r/c car guys are supposed to stay on am channels to avoid interference, but with the 2.4 GHz radios and channel scanning, etc... they can all peacefully co-exist and enjoy the benefits of 2.4 GHz. My son and I have been using 2.4...

oh, you could probably get a decent-sized amp under the seats, though. i put a boomer 600 on a 1/2" plyboard mounting platform, velcroed to the carpet under the passenger seat of a 3G T4R. still plenty of air circulation, can shoot skip for about 10-15 min without any significant heat buildup...

the full size chassis radios can fit into a single DIN slot, you may have to dremel out the edges a little bit if you have a lip around the factory opening. i've seen a 148 fit into the single DIN slot in an integra, but that probably only worked b/c the mike is front-mounted. my SS3900GHP...
