i'm looking into getting a tactical radio for a vest i am preparing, for personal use, and wondering what band i should look into getting, one of those 2mile jobs, or step it up and go with a ham band radio.

that makes my decision harder

so this will work in the US? and if i want, no interest as of now, i can get my beginners license and use the 10/12 correct the reason i am interested in this is i really like the looks and dont need one of the big truckers radio. all my talking will be done close as in construction
