    Heathkit sb200 issue

572B's only need 50-60w to get full output, anything more just flat-tops. Amplifier is working great now.

    Restoring a Kenwood TS-430S

Nice job restoring. Love these older Kenwood rigs!

    Heathkit sb200 issue

All set, was the input tuning coil. SWR between radio and amp was way above 3:1 when fully tuned. Got the SWR down to 1.2:1 on 10m, works for me!

    Heathkit sb200 issue

I will have to do some more testing and take readings later on. I was also thinking tuned input, need to check SWR between radio and amp. Readings were done on 10m and 15m, dummy load. From what I remember seeing, plate voltage was 500ma. Still has the Cetron 572b tubes, like I said was serviced...

    Heathkit sb200 issue

Wondering if anyone has any insight. Purchased a clean sb200, RTO electronics went through the amplifier in 2012, replaced relay for newer transceivers. My issue is I cannot get more than 250w output. HV idle voltage is 2400, keydown 2100 volts. 10w drive give 200w out, 20w in and barely 250w...

    Another HR2510 problem

So I spent about 3 hours on the radio last night, PLL is aligned perfect until I hit a snag at, since it won't tx I couldn't align the last part of the PLL alignment. The TX icon shows up in the display, just nothing happens. I hear static in RX but that is all. Still no RX or TX...

    Another HR2510 problem

Thanks....I've been reading these are notorious for bad caps and glue on the boards.

    Another HR2510 problem

It wouldn't even align at the first step (28.000mhz). Freq is 6.16000, needs to be 6.2000, l315 wouldn't align that far.

    Another HR2510 problem

Picked up a HR2510, display lights, all controls work. However very low RX an no TX, close stations can barely be understood. I attempted to do an alignment, but couldn't get PLL aligned. Voltages at IC312,311 are in check. Voltage at voltage regulator is correct per specs. Anyone know where I...

    JB-12 trimmer capacitor

Thanks for the info. It works, just a bit bent. I'll just leave it be.

    Zachary T squeal

No talkback, radio is stock. Limiter is still intact.

    Zachary T squeal

Same thing, almost like RF getting in the tx audio. Happens with stock and 4 different powered mics. Very tinny audio as well.

    Zachary T squeal

Zach T, same board as Cobra 29/89xlr, some others. No matter what mic, radio has high pitched squeal, rf feedback, in tx. Audio sounds tinny. I've added grounds, caps from audio/ground, turned audio pot down (helped some), aligned the radio. Sounds like a bad leaky cap, but maybe something...

Should I do it to my Radio.

Both my 440s and 430s sound great on AM, just need to know how to run it. I will agree that SSB is where they shine.

    11m Moxon vs 5/8GP

I've thought about building my own, I just don't understand exactly how. I can't have the thing up there looking like a complete POS. I have (friendly) neighbors to deal with. But the 25-30' up is perfect!
