    if your cobra needs the mic plugged in to receive then you will need to come up with a way to ground pin 4 when just receiving and un ground it when you go to transmitt, so with the mic you want to use its not a simple plug swap to make it work id look for a different mic to use on the cobra

    I just used that spot because that is where I had my screwdriver antenna with a uhf mount,, I put a uhf-nmo adapter on and put the compactenna on the adapter,,, swr is fine on 2m and 440, not perfect but still under 2:1swr

    picked up one of these Harbor freight boxes for my Yaesu FT-818, works great! just waiting on my Milwaukee battery adapter with leads and my power pole battery connector saver for the back of the radio to do up the power wires correctly.
