Get used to it guys, things are starting to quiet down. The cycle is waining, so unless you've got locals or are willing to go to "CB radio chat" online, it may be getting kinda quiet!

I took out my Cobra 148 which had been in the attic for 22 years, and it worked fine! If you want to see how it works with locals, try getting on the air in the evenings or for a few hours just after midnight.
Do you guys want to coordinate this online? Maybe we can all meet up on CB Radio Chat so we can all communicate when we try to meet up on the air? I generally monitor the online Channel 27.
If the skip annoys you, just go on late at night and you can try for some distant contacts via ground wave. Funny thing is that "in the old days", there were "locals" on every other street!
In the evening, you may want to drive to the highest point or location you can find. You hopefully should be able to reach a few stations via ground wave, and get some signal reports.
