im not real familiar with amps so I’m turning to y’all. I have a galaxy 98 does about 265-300 depends on who tests it. What would be a good size amp to pair it with to use it as driver?

anyone have any thoughts about this antenna? I’ve been using Wilson 5000 with no problems but a friend gave me K40 for free so I’m trying it out. According to meter on radio swr with Wilson was 1:4 and now 1:5. Other than that I don’t know much about them. Any info would help thanks

I bought radio used so I don’t know exactly what’s been done. My local guy said it’s doing 300 on his bird meter but I didn’t see it with my own eyes so who knows. It seems to be doing ok. I’ve talked to guys 12-15 miles away without any problems

so I notice on my galaxy 98 with power knob at 9:00 position or less my SWR reads about a 1:1-1:2. If I turn it any higher SWR jumps straight to 1:4-1:5. Is this normal or should I be concerned? And would it TX better with less power and better SWR or higher power and slightly higher SWR?

Yea not into the noise toys at all. I do like the paint schemes though

Regarding the pots. Instead of the off position being at 7:00 and turning clockwise it was at 2:00 turning counter clockwise

The 48 is at home I have the 98 in truck but was planning to get 48 fixed one day as s back up

I got a faceplate from them for my 48T. Wasn’t as cool as I expected. Was missing the small details and I even sent them a pic of exact one I wanted. The painted amp is what gives it a different look. Anywho speaking of 48T, mine crapped out and I sent it to a guy not gonna mention names...
