11 meter is very quiet?

Update: Our wash plant just broke down again. The water pipe is leaking. Repair time is at a critical high. We only have a few more weeks before the freeze sets in. I’m deeply in dept. My family gave up on me and went back home. How in the hell am I going to break through the permafrost? Any ideas….

I think that is the basis for all reality shows. Always running short on time blah blah blah, etc. etc. etc.

Southern California was coming in sporadically this morning to NC. They couldn't hear my QRP station. o_O

I'll try again later this afternoon. :barefoot:
I wish I could even hear california.
The tropics is like talking next door here. Anything west of the Mississippi river is super rare. It was cool to hear TX the other day.

Barely any conditions now but there is Jamaica coming in to my connecticut radio

There are a couple of Puerto Rico stations that come in not too infrequently. 421 Luis, who is 45 miles south of San Juan has come in on LSB 38 several times. Then there's a group on AM 26 that talk to each other locally, but whose signals get skipped our way. That group includes Rastrillo (rake) out of San Germán, PR and San Martín out of Guánica, PR. The three are about 1000 to 1100 miles from me. Add a few (quite a few) extra miles if you're talking to them from the mainland.

While working out in the garage today listening to ch20, I heard Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, and someone from the "Blue Water". The DX would fade in and out for several minuets each way.

Then out of nowhere, I heard a big radio. "DOUBLE U.F.O PLANET TEXAS TOUCHING DOWN, LOOKING FOR THE WEST COAST BEAST!!"

I almost spit beer out of my nose, and it was the highlight of the afternoon. Haha!
