11 meter is very quiet?

Just had a quick qso with @Eldorado828 , great to talk to you sir. That dipole is doing a great job. Not a lot of traffic on my end, but I can tell that there are a lot of stations that I can't hear. Always great to talk to forum members!

Ps. I just realized that my qt60 is turned down to half power to drive my amp, but the amp was off. Not bad for 20w!

It's been quiet around here for days until this evening so it was a pleasure talking to you amigo! You were doing a fine job getting over the qrm on my end so the q6 pro did the job. Hope to do it again soon.

Hooked up with 23 BC Coyote in British Columbia again this afternoon. Good long Qso on 445LSB. Excellent conditions. 100% copy
I checked it out Sean. 6679 Km (4140 Mi.)from our farm to your Island. Not bad for 250W on my end. As always, great to talk to someone who lives as far off the beaten path as we do. You take care. Happy Easter, and 73, my friend.

Well tried the radio room radios early this morning and nothing. Around 4:30 headed out with the Expedition and heard some chatter on the Q6Pro. Well on the trip home I did make a Lone Star contact without running a amp. With just the output cranked up but not all the way. I feel that is a positive sign and the contact was clear but not over-powering. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel. LOL

I got a unexpected call today from the hospital that's going to remove a tumor from my left ear a couple weeks from now. They want to see me this Friday so I can't let a 3+ hour road trip in my Cobalt get made without my other Q6Pro being installed. Well you know the drill, after installing it this afternoon I had to do a road test. Over Hill over Dale we hit the dust trail without a amp installed. Dx was light and nothing to get excited about but got a good radio check on 19 AM next to Interstate 81 ( down in the valley ) As I headed home it included a open hill top so thought I'd give a shout on 37 lsb. Low and behold I got a great come-back from Arizona like they were in a car behind me ,and they gave me a great report also, even with me only running 3/4 throttle on the power out. Who says a almost 75 YO man can't fall in love again ! LOL

I'm working at home and will be in the shop with the radio on for some of the day. Conditions have been ho-hum here the last couple days, so we will see what today brings. I'll likely be hanging around 445 LSB and 555 USB among other places...........
Edit to add: No conditions at all here right now, hope it picks up later.

So when does LSB switch to USB above 27.xxx? Generally.
Both modes are used on all frequencies above channel 40.

LSB: 27.400 to 27.600 mostly english speaking traffic within North America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, and Caribbean. 27.600 and above mostly spanish traffic from Central and South America. Mostly on frequencies ending in '5'.

USB: 27.400 to 27.900 frequencies ending in '0'....international english speaking DX stations. This is where you will find folks with the classic 11 meter callsigns (ie:26AT002) working DX stations. People call on 27.555 USB and then move to a 0 channel to have a QSO.
USB: 27.400 to 27.900 frequencies ending in '5'.....international traffic in languages other than English. Lots and lots of spanish, portugese, russian, asian languages etc.

There are no hard and fast rules, but this is the general idea of how it works.
