11 meter is very quiet?

Drove into town today, just listening to 38, nothing.
Checked the mail came back out and I hear 99 in Jamaica talking to someone, said hello, brief contact then faded away and that was it, nothing else on the way home.

Don't feel alone, I tried several times in the day and was a waste. And both of my trouble maker neighbors were gone away. LOL Just my luck !

I got my station back on the air today. My TX600 amp gave out a few days ago after 40 years of faithful service. One of the impossible-to-find RF120 transistors bit the dust. Sent the amp to the builder and he said he will remove the driver, use it to repair the amp, making it a straight 4-pill. Also said he'd add AB biasing. so, nothing lost, really (except dinero.)
I have a TX250 and hooked it inline today. 250 watt peak with 6 watt drive from my Quad6PRO. 27.375 was pretty quiet at 1 PM when I got on the air, but picked up when I called CQ-Dx. Logged 9 solid contacts between 1 and 3 PM. Great amp that 250. But can't wait to get the TX600 back. I will be on again manana. Let's hook up. 73.

EDIT: Jeff, try 27.375. I'll bet we could have hooked up. Maybe manana?? Had a nice long QSO with 3308 Pete out of Ventura. So might have been able to snag you too

Conditions have been horrible in Lonedell, Missouri about 30 miles west of St Louis.
When I talked to my contacts yesterday, I asked them how many stations had they talked to. Every one said that their receive was dead until I called CQ. Weird conditions everywhere. Gonna head down to the shack now ( 1:15 pm). listen for me on .375 LSB

I got my Car port move today because it was a fantastic Sunny 84 degree day with only 54 % humidity and 7 mph wind. Worked my buns off all day and after putting all the tools away about 7:30 pm went for Ice Cream and the Q6 Pro was sounding superb on 38 lsb, mostly Jamaica but I was only hearing half of the convo. I hope better days are coming.

in my area you can hear em but cant reach em
Your not alone, I have that same problem also. Some of it might be conditions but I credit part of my problems to maybe too many irons in the fire and maybe not having systems set up as good as they should be at least in my mobiles. And the home base I deal with this stinking valley. But the plus side of it is I'm protected from some of the Raw elements of nature and with the mobiles maybe better days could be coming when I get time to do some Ironing out. LOL

Hate to hear that but it's about typical around this time of year. If I get a window at all this time of year, it's been evenings but that's if any at all.
We're inching closer to fall and that's where it'll be so just hang in there.
