Yesterday I talked with a great sounding station from Minnesota on 26.805 FM. He told me he has talked overseas on FM as well. I have talked on FM in North America only. Any other frequencies I should try for overseas FM??I had a fun time on 26.805 FM before work today........ lots of U.S. contacts and then the big surprise... EK030 from Limerick in Ireland ! I talk to Europe on sideband fairly often, but this would be the first time I've made it to Europe on FM. And on 70 watts and an Antron no less.......
That makes 6 countries for me in FM mode; US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and now Ireland.
No particular time. I monitor it both in my shop and my car, so I'm on there fairly often and I usually put out a couple 'CQ' calls whenever I am.......What time are you usually on 26.805?

Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned |
