11 meter is very quiet?

Had fantastic conditions to Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi & Arkansas yesterday afternoon.
Today it's mostly static (I did hear a little e-skip from California just now) and there is a large CME from yesterday's solar flare heading our way. It is expected to wipe out conditions completely for several days...... but I hope they are wrong!

On the plus side, there may be visible northern lights tonight and tomorrow night if the sky is clear to the north where you are.

I turned on he radio a couple times today when I was mobile and right back off because of nothing. same way with my base this morning. Summer is going to start happening. Looks like this might be my last night of running my gas heater. WOO HOO !

Had a ton of contacts Saturday night from my place in Arkansas all down the east coast. Now I'm looking at snow on the mountain tops in Reno wishing I had a mobile set up to take advantage of the elevation. But the food is good, the beer is cold, and the ladies are hot. I think I'll be alright without a radio for a while.

Strange day for DXing. Turned on the Q6PRO at 10Am and just lots of static. About 11Am I heard 427 Arkansas call CQ. Shouted back and had a nice QSO. Then 142 N. Carolina, 141 Tenn, 411 ohio, 50 Louisanna, 707, 0507, 307, 972, 320 and AK5 all out of the Lonestar. 313 PA, 3164 PA, 124 PA, 383 FL, and 31 Louisanna. Capped it off with NC1 and 284 Backwoods40 (new forum member) out of N. Carolina. Nice long QSO on 27.880. Then the rains came and I shut her down. Best Dx in a long time. Hope manana is as good. 73 Mi Amigos !!

Had a busy day today that started early with nothing on the base station so I give her hell outside until my legs started screaming at me. About 2 PM decided to give the legs some rest in the radio room and was surprised to hear a bunch of activity on the radio. I gave a shout on what I thought was 38 lsb and got a comeback but too many on to pull it out good. I jumped around to hear others and then noticed I wasn't on lsb after all. I was on straight AM which surprised me with the activity. Only made the one contact and didn't even hear where he was at but they all sounded distant. Like a famous man in here says That's Radioing. LOL

Yesterday was the feast . . . Today was the famine. I could hear all sorts of stations, but no one could hear me. I guess it was a huge pileup in the mid and south west because I couldn't punch through no matter how hard I tried. Stations that did come back were so deep in the mud that all I could hear was an ocassional "399." Lots of loud stations, but not a one answered my calls. Maybe better luck manana. 73.

EDIT: Just noticed my post was # 10,000 on this thread. Started in 2019. Has to be a forum record !!

Conditions aren't great but I did make a NC contact this morning from my base (2547) so I guess you call it e skip. But most are hard to understand because they bleed together. OH WELL something is better than nothing and I just put new headlight assemblies in my car. Next comes new rocker panels. Being on Fixed Income is full of fun projects ! LOL

Fired up the Ranger early this morning and made the following contacts on 37 and 38 LSB:
389 Northern Maine
875 Iowa
995 Milwaukee, Wisconsin
943 Illinois
500 Nova Scotia, Canada
World Radio 2317 Northern Michigan
The Propagation was really hopping this morning between 8-9am up here in Central PA at least for me,I'm listening right now on 38 LSB at the moment and I can faintly hear stations in the background, I'll be on back and forth on 38 and 37 LSB throughout the rest of the day today, just checked the solar conditions online and it shows 10-11 meters as Fair currently with a Minor solar storm occurring if I read it correctly...........
