11 meter is very quiet?

I have the GP kit and use it. I figure it's going to help, or not. What it's NOT going to do is hurt.

After having two up in the air at the same time, one with and one without, I do believe it helps. IMHO

i had an early a 99 was not pure white but a brownish tone. was great, friend few miles away had just like mine. we had a bad storm pass n lightning destroyed both. we bought new a 99 n just could reach each other. old a 99 we always had a 6 or more recive on each other. all 4 had the gp option installed

I'm out on my boat at Dry Tortugas National Park. This park is set of islands 70 miles out in the middle of the ocean. I've got my SSB walkie talkie and a marine CB antenna, so I'm going to be giving some call outs this afternoon on USB 40.
Did you make any contacts? I heard a few Spanish speaking stations when I first turned the radio on but they faded after 30 minutes, and all was quiet after that.

11 meters was quiet out there. In the past, I had made some interesting contacts out on the water. I'll keep pushing my luck in the days to come.

Been trying to get the right antenna on my Ford Expedition and It ended up being my K-40 with almost a Flat Line SWR across the 11 meter band. I made a 720 air mile contact to Atlanta Georgia running barefoot with my McKinley on 38 LSB and conditions were lousy. Now I have to throw my Q6 Pro in and see if I still get that SWR Alert again. Radios can make you Crazy & I'm living proof ! LOL

Conditions up here on the west coast of Canada have been hit and miss for the last month or two........still getting lots of daily short skip, usually in the 400 to 1200 mile range. It's very sporadic; hence the name "sporadic-E".....stations boom in for an hour or two, then everything goes quiet for an hour or two, and then suddenly it will open up again for a while. Rinse and repeat all day long. Most days it is late morning before anything is heard here at all.

Australia, Hawaii, and New Zealand are all coming in daily in the afternoon and evening as well........sometimes quite late at night.........I was still hearing activity on 35LSB from downunder at 11:30pm last night! Signal strengths are nowhere near what they were a couple months back, but still good enough for contacts.

Very little exotic DX happening on the upper frequencies. Briefly heard Japan on 555 a couple evenings ago, and a guy in Brazil on there today. Heard John in 338 division (Marquesas Islands) down in the weeds on 38 last night. That's pretty much it though. Hoping for a big improvement as we head towards fall!

Planning on trying to fire up the Ranger on Sunday around 2pm, I'll be on 37 LSB if anyone wants to give me a call if conditions permit, although lately up here in Central PA, DX has been hit or miss, really looking forward to the Fall and Winter to return so Dx can get back to normal, etc......
Hope all my WWDX Friends out there are doing well!!!!

Looking like DX Conditions are going to be on the Fair side today, but maybe it'll change for the better through out the day!!
They are predicting thunder storms in my neck of the woods so my antenna will be disconnected. And I wanted to take a ride up country to check out a radio in my Expedition but the dirt road will be muddy so I guess that will be out also. Guess I'll be forced to be Little Susie Homemaker today. Fun Fun Fun ! LOL
