Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Frequency response is controlled in DSP firmware. There will be no more firmware updates on the AT-5555Nii long case as it is discontinued. Future models may include more menu based TX and RX bandwidth and EQ options, which would be welcome (it is a roadmap item (y) ).

You can't know for sure. But having a 5KHz step is a good bet it's a later version.

Also, it is 'likely' that you would be able to flash back to the previous version (the official firmware you have now) to restore the radio if things went wrong. But again, there are no promises this will work, there is no warranty, it is entirely your choice and your risk to take.

The risks are generally very low, but they do exist, hence the warnings.
Hi,

I updated my AnyTone AT5555 NII LONG CASE version and am quite happy with it.
So while I currently don't want to put the old firmware back, the thing that strikes me is that I do not even have the old firmware. Nor did I see a way to extract the old firmware from the software that was part of the beta release.

How would I get the previous firmware?

Thanks,
Skyline

I have been wondering the same thing! I upgraded my long case 5555N2 as well. No problems and no regrets but I would like to have the old firmware handy just in case I do ever need to roll back for some reason. I wonder if Pez could post it here for us?

I also realized yesterday that the computer programming software for the upgraded long case firmware is only available here on WWDX forum! I searched the internet out of curiosity and it isn't available anywhere else.. You need version 2.05 if you have the WWDX firmware upgrade. The original long case firmware was 2.02 and the new short case uses 3.0.
So if you have done the WWDX upgrade to a long case 5555N2 I strongly recommend backing up the files you used to do the upgrade as you may need them someday..............and there is no guarantee they will still be available here!

When I said "AT5555NII - Long Case Firmware 241030 - WWDX BETA VERSION", that was no joke! ;)

You're one heck of a guy @Pez , You don't have to give this info to us but you do and that's really appreciated! Thank you, sir.

You've given an update that's a wwdx exclusive

Oh I just remembered something.
Somebody down here asked how he could see the difference between long case and short case. As a result we both ended up measuring our radio's. Turns out he has a short case one.

It is probably a good idea to add the measurements of the long case radio to the original post.
Thanks again.

The AnyTone does not work with EU or RU settings. That's just not how this is done.
You can change the channel spacing in the settings. You can also program the channels using a computer if you need the frequencies to be different for your channels.

No, extended VHF is only available on the short case version.

Yes, the "official release" firmware is good to go, but it is the older factory firmware that does NOT include the latest features. It was added here in case anyone wished to roll back, for any reason.

If you want the latest and full feature set available, use the latest and final firmware version linked below. (It has proven to be safe with no issues reported so far, despite the general warnings I had to add to the post):
