I'm strictly a portable HF guy, mostly doing SOTA. Since last May it's been pretty well required to operate in the 30-45 watt range with a dipole at 22' feedpoint. Yesterday I tried going 12 watts with my KX2 and 2 chunks of wire hanging on a few branches at 8-10'. Got nine contacts over 12 minutes, which is not bad at all.

So, how are you finding conditions lately??

What bands are you using? I've only been on 75 and 160 in the last few months but everything there seems to be about average. I did hear some 11m dx recently but it didn't last long.

20 meters has been great here in the past couple of weeks. Mostly during the day but still decent at night. (y)
