Base Antenna Help

I am looking for opinions and help trying to set up a base antenna. I have only had mobile setups.

I am thinking I want to either get an Antron 99 or a Maco v58. The way I want to mount it would be on a push up mast (like a rohn h50) and bracket it to the eve of my house. The eve is about 20’ from the ground. Would this work? Any recommendation on what bracket to use?

My next question is about grounding. Is it sufficient to put a ground rod in the ground by the base of the antenna to ground it to? The main ground rod for my house is on the opposite side of the house. I could run a ground wire to that but it would probably be 60-80 ft long. Not sure what to do. I don’t know a lot about it honestly.

Unfortunately a tower is not an option.

Thanks for your help.

Maco v58. Use a ground rod at the base of the push up pole/mast and tie that into your main house ground however much copper it takes.

Thanks for the replies. So you think the push up mast will be ok just bracketed to the eve? That’s what I was hoping for. Any recommendations on what type of bracket to use?

Be careful of how much mast you have extended above your eave mount. The Macov58 will add about 22' to the top of your mast. Guy wires/ropes may be required????

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking about trying to go about 35’ with it. I can add guy wires to it. How should I run them. One off each side? Or one off each side and one away from the house? I have a hard time trying to figure this out without actually seeing it done. I think y’all have me on the right track now. Thanks again.

All of these are mounted exactly as you asked about. No guy wires. Roof peak is 17' above the ground. Other antennas have been mounted there, too, including a couple of 28' plus long V4k/Sigma4 antennas. Just use good pipe and bracket. This is the bracket I used. Anything but one of the fiberglass noodles................

Homer,
Is the dipole in the lower photo for 10m or 11m? Or even lower?

Nice setup there. Thanks for the pictures if I came see it it makes more sense., Is your mast buried in the ground or sitting on top of the ground? Did you use that bracket at the top of the eve? What is that bracket called or do you have a direct link to it? Thanks
