BEST DIY DX ANTENNA

Search dipole antenna on eBay. It's one of the 1st ones to pop up. 9.99 and 4.85 shipping. Looks to be made decent in the photos, parts look simple. Some #14awg wire, a so-239 connector, PVC and fittings and a couple of loop screws and bolts and nuts. Think I will buy one as well.

Build by yourself HB9CV or 3 element Yagi. Forward gain is the key to success.
It is not "the best" antenna but will give good price/performance ratio.
If you really want "the best" antenna for 27MHz 8 over 8 should do the trick:

Jeff said it above. Sounds like it may have been CB Radio Forum or another site. Ebay links get posted here all the time. Now if you were posting something you yourself had for sale then it should be in the for sale section only.

some forums I am on will knock off any adds posted for any thing. maybe I was thinking of another forum.I have just gotten use to not posting any store adds for someone to look at. I am on about 10 forums and have been since 2001 to 2005 as I found the forum.


Johnny9 I am a member of a couple that you have to wait for the mod to post it for you after it is proof read. I have seen it take up to 48 hours to show up on a post . I have tried to help someone on a radio and you have to wait for days to respond to each other. on one forum you can not even post a hyperlink for some one to look at a item . a lot of info on cbtricks and you post the link to any site such as to look at info they wipe it off.
 
thats why i like it here best. i useually join a couple forums and stay with 1..
i become dedicated to the 1 that helps the most then try to become helpfull to others as they have me.
i ordered that cheap dipole off ebay..then seen a video on youtube with a younger guy that i watched 2 times already.
i think i learned more from this kid than any video ive seen,,great video.
now im def hooked when money allows(y)
i may turn the dioploe into something like this..dont under stand the main diff in dipole and buddipole yet but i will sooner or later.

im on a few firearms forums but as far as cb,and learning about ham radio im sticking with this one..no need for me to even look further imo..they put up with me this long..
 
received the dipole antenna today from the ebay seller I listed here and it is just fine. strung it up and SWR is very low , hardly moves the meter and seems fine. the only thing I am wondering about is the antenna wires are coming out of the center mount and not hooked to I bolts as most do them. but so far it seems to be fine. only took 2 days from california to Oklahoma. not bad for 15.00 purchase.
 
good to hear..i ordered it also and it shipped today..i should have it next thurs or fri..
maybe they just tyed a knot on the inside the pvc to keep the wires from coming out?
i will prob use a 24ft stick of aluminum tube and add to it to get the dipole way up in the air..i hope it allows me to make some contacts..that would be great as im going crazy just listening lol.
i here oklahoma a lot and every state out there,,and canada but cant talk with the astroplane so low and in the trees..that will change someday when the money tree grows:D

let me no what radio your using and what kinda contacts you make with it to get my hopes up a bit;)
