I don't know why you guys have taken a negative opinion of me or why the comments about memorizing answers to pass the Extra exam somehow makes me an outsider to be poked fun at or laughed at but let me tell you this is not what ham radio is all about. I used to think this forum was a decent place and I've done nothing but ask a few questions and tried to learn. This is the kind of thing that hinders others from asking any questions. If You don't want me here then BYE
This hobby is just like any other. You have a few that operate on the assumption that there is "THEIR way and the WRONG way". It's the same on every repeater too. Someone just looking to nitpick new comers slip ups.
I think it's great you got your extra. CONGRATS. Some people learn things differently. That's just human nature. You passed, and your legal, end of story.
I got my Tech March 13th by studying the ARRL book and using the QRZ tests.
I got my General last week. Using the above methods was getting me no where. The HamRadioOnline method worked for me. Having the explanation for the Correct & Incorrect answers worked for me. If it works on my Extra studies, fine. If not I'll find what works for me.
DON'T let jerks run you off. You can ignore their name on the forum and that's that.
Stick around. In my short time in this hobby I have found the majority of OT's will give you the shirt off their back to help out those new to the hobby. Enjoy your time with them, and don't worry about the others.
The best thing I did was join a club as soon as I got my ticket. I was treated like one of the family from the start, and can ask any question I'm not sure of.
