On a lighter note, there is incredible technology being developed that will make all our lives better.
Just wondering if the swine flu of the 70s or any of the other pandemics of the past were just as bad or even worse. With today's social media its very easy to make a mountain out of a molehill.
Those of you who don't believe the coronavirus is a big deal will be happy to know that the postal service has your back.
For those who are actually concerned about it, the inverse: handle your daily mail delivery as if it were contaminated. Because there is a very good chance that it is.
Think of all the things many businesses and government offices are doing to reduce the spread. Now think of the opposite of those things.
Those opposite things are what the postal service is doing.
I won't go into how I happen to come by this knowledge. Do with it as you will.

Its been reported for a week or so that usps is rife with covid19 cases and since this virus isnt very fragile it can stay on surfaces for days.

WECSOG...You're right. If I happen look out front at right time everyday I can see the rural mail carrier in his old beater station wagon cramming all that junk mail in my roadside mailbox. Opening the mailbox door and closing it again.
I know his bare hands have been opening and closing mailboxes and handling outgoing & incoming mail for miles around. Getting mail out and putting more in. All that he's getting out has been touched and held by the nasty hands of all the residents around.
Whatever is on the carrier's gloved or gloveless hands from the mail is being distributed all around the county...and the state...and the USA seven days a week.

Mailboxes can be loaded with radioactive material to sterilize anything that comes near it. Medical companies do this to sterilize products after packaging.
And it’s glow-in-the-dark for those Extra early deliveries.
And the driveway marker for late night returns from the Dew Drop Inn!!

Yep. And worse, if they do anything whatsoever to slow the spread, they will get in trouble with their bosses. I wish I could convey what some of the teleconferences between upper level management at central offices and the smaller offices sound like. Hint: the subject matter is not how to protect themselves and the public.
Of course you can bet that those higher level people who are barking orders at their underlings, are doing what they can to protect themselves.

Next time I goto my mailbox I'm taking along some salad tongs.
Went walkabout, just along the back perimeter to see what's happening in the hood behind me. Nothing not a sole, no traffic, looked down the street perpetually......nobody. Very little traffic heard on 35, wondering if neighbors are alive. Usually hear various planes or choppers, not even a crop duster.
Folks, this shit is really weird. I'm feeling kinda funny, believe it stress. Not sure why, I usually stay home, and there is always noise from out back. No friendly gun fire today.
