End Fed Antenna

Well, just noticed my current balun is only rated for 200 watts CW. Guess I got fooled, when I read it handled 1500 watts SSB. The 200 watts is in small print. This will not do.

Made by the same guys that make gainmasters ?

Lol,

Radiowavz 1:1 current balun. I can dial back to 200 watts, but I'm sure I'll forget one day and poof it.

Any particular orientation the end fed antenna favors? I can mount it in practically any and every direction.
I've always run mine vertical for ~30', west horizontally for ~45', then north horizontally for the remainder. Seems not to care which way I run it...
I do personally think as much vertical as you can go before going horizontal or sloping downward is better for low angle propagation especially on the bands 20m and higher.

I can pull the wire up pretty high in my Oak tree. Maybe have the feed point 6' above ground and 50' coax run to the shack.

If you live where I live you do not want to point it north. My antenna points across lake Ontario towards Canada. It still works well in all direction's. I have a off center I will get up one day and point it west.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
