I just purchased a ICOM 7410. It is a surplus unit but images made it look new or very gently used. They had several and specialize in Industrial Surplus. They came out of a radio communication shop that went out of business. I will let you know when I get it if it is new. It was inspected today before being boxed up to ship and according to them it is missing it's power cord.

I always wanted one but when they came out I in the process of lossing my home long story but was not on me. A lot of people in my area got caught up in this. So then I was renting while trying to win my case in court and forgot about it. They stoped making them when I was ready to get back into things. Then I almost purchased a 7600 and ended up purchasing a new home because renting is never a great way to spend your money if you can help it and again between wife and kids forgot about. Not really but just did not have the time for the hobby because between school, work, kids I was always on the road!

So I purchased it today but I doubt it will arrive before next week. So between mobile dual or quad band radio's, walkies, and much older gear this HF+6 pretty much rounds out all my needs and is higher quality or more convient all in one. This will take the place of my Xiegu G90HF rig. I will make the G90 my QRP field radio.

I am so excited because I have always ended up using either older tube gear, transverter's I had built or Chinese gear due to price alone. I am so excited I told my wife it is like the first time you see a hot girl or woman that is not your cousin, sister or mom naked! That type of young boy giddy and excited! I spent most of today reading eHam reviews. I have not been this excited about a piece of gear in decades maybe not since High School.

I had to share with someone becaue I am so full of aticipation I am ooozing positivity and happiness!

It is the first radio in at least 28 years that I did not purchase just because it was cheap! Sure the price was good but I actual have wanted this radio for a long long long time. It is shocking how exciting it is.

Nice to be excited about the hobby again. Planing to make and put up some new dipoles. A tall tall ladder, power tools and tree's are in my future!

I am thinking about packing up a lot of gear and doing just the Icom 7410 and Uniden Grant LT and a Walkie on the corner of my compter station in the living room. This way I have bare minimum at my side 24/7 so it is not either on my computer or on the radio's. I have not had a computer int he radio room aka spare bedroom since my one son returned home post college. My laptop died and I have not replaced it so I am eithe ron the radio's or on the computer but never both.

I Rarely use my most expensive Amateur Radio since purchasing an ICOM 775DSP. My ICOM 7610 & ICOM 9100 just sit quietly. If the 775DSP had 6 meters I would sell the 7610. The 775DSP hears what the 7610 cannot hear. It's not what they cost but what they do on the airways so enjoy whatever pleases you. For me I'm sticking with the 775DSP & I will be connecting it to the ICOM PW-1 next.

PW-1 is a solid amp that should be lots of fun.

At some point I will need to build or purchase a more power amp myself.

I always wanted a JRC JRL-3000 amplifier. I had the chance to purchase one new and the money 1992-1993 but then I went off to college and figured I would get one when I was done with school. Life happened and I forgot about it.

On the other hand I packed up my best hifi gear fromt he 1970-1980's and put it in mom and dads atic and forgot about it until about 5 years ago when they moved again. It sat in their attic forgotten about for 27 years. The only items not 100% are my reel to reel and my turntable. Gear I paid $500 for now sells for $4000+. I can not imagine what a company today would want for something like the JRC JRL-3000 new?
