LSB 16 Revival Effort - July 20, 2019

50 years ago today Apollo 11 was on its way to the moon. Do you think maybe the guys set their radio to LSB 16 and shot some skip for a while? Imagine cruising along at 25,000 miles an hour with a 102" hanging off the back of your command module. No wind. No gravity. No atmospheric distortion. A little Doppler effect for good measure.

Just a few thoughts.

Just worked 440 Tampa Bay FL on 27.155 LSB.

Conditions look to be favorable today. The DX is rolling in on LSB 38, where there's quite a pile up. I'm flipping back and forth between LSB 38 and LSB 16, but hoping today is the day we have some success on LSB 16.

357 and I just made contact on LSB 16. Conditions are good, but not great. We'll hopefully get a little more activity as the day goes on.

And that we did "Rick330man" Florida Keys. Finally made an SSB connection and had a QSO on 16 LSB. And with a WWDX Forum member.

I heard people way off on 16 a little while ago but conditions on my end haven't quite setup yet .

Just gave a call. Think I heard someone coming back to the Central Coast of CA. Right at my noise floor powerlines close by.

314 in Indiana and I had short QSO, but he was having difficulty receiving me because of QRM on his end. I was getting some bleed-over on my end from some guys on AM15, but could still pull him out.

I also heard a West Virginia station (maybe Western Virginia), but the AM 15 bleed-over came in over him. I'll try again at 3:00P.M. eastern, 6:00P.M. eastern and 9:00P.M. eastern.

The bottom line is we're having some success today on LSB 16.
