    I've been contemplating painting my old van in a patriotica sort of theme, and redoing the interior in a 70's vibe.

    That radio seems to fit, appearance wise.

    read the phoney "reviews"......... DA posted that he ONLY use it on 10 meters and gets great results from DXLAND................. DXLAND (really?)

    Sort of light on RF output. The 2970N2 would be a better radio. Or this one: Ranger RCI 2950CD 10 & 12 Meter

    Considering the price of a brand new Cobra 148 back in 1985 cost me $169 that seems like a bargain in today's dollars for what you're getting.

    Wow look at this......."SWR Calibration, Allows calibration of SWR meter to match the antenna to your radio for maximum radiated power"

    Now I understand why some newbies think the SWR Calibration knob somehiw tunes the antenna.
