NOT WILLING TO SETTLE
I'm really looking forward to purchaseing my first ssb radio. It's gonna be a base. I'm trying my bes to find a virgin. Being I have my heart set on the President Madison, it's become obvious that very few escaped the screwdriver. I found an unmolested sbe V. That actually was my first choice. I had to stay fast on my high number. It's to bad for me, I may have lost this radio because I wasn't willing to get into a biding war. I've learned very quickly not to fall into that macho biding scene. When that happens you may win what your biding on but when looking back only to realize you paid $100 or more than you wanted too and $200 more than it's worth in the first place. So I patiently wait. I'm positive my patients will pay off and I will get exactly what I'm looking for, a very nice looking unmolested unmodified ssb base radio thats gonna give me many good years on ssb. Once again I thank all the members of WWDX. That answered my and many other posts with patients and knowledge. I have this feeling we may be the last generation of cb'ers and hams. With all the advancments in personal comunicton devices available to the young, who knows. I imagine, it's 2065, two 90 something year olds, the air waves are completely silent except for these two people. After a long qsl, Thay say 73's. In the morning one takes the long sleep. That day his friend keys up at there usual Time but there's no answer. Only silence. Silence, silence, silence. That's it its all over. One old man sitting in his shack with no one else to qsl with. The last cb/ham operator, past up by youth and advanced personal comunicton devices. Oh well.
