A local guy had an air-cooled VW motor mounted in a frame at the rear of his shootout van. Had at least six alternators in a ring around it. Pretty sure the tube it was to run was a 15000. Every shootout I saw him enter he broke down, never did actually compete. Back then a local shootout was a real event.
