Well I don't think that Icom 718 will in most mobile's. The question posed was why you would buy an export. Basically I believe it's based on the price, power of the radio, roger beeps and echo's that the CB person wants. It obvious you will have no part in any of that. That's fine. I really don't care. There are a billion other people who want an export radio to do as they wish, and like you (not liking exports or cb probably) they could care less about Ham radios. Plus I don't believe I've ever seen a Ham radio at a truck stop.

I happen to enjoy Export converted radio's, plain old CB radio's, Ham radio's, and anything else that has anything at all to do with radio's.
