Unit 399 JJ in Medellin Colombia

With great sorrow and a broken heart, I just found out that James Schleitwiler JJ Unit 399 has passed away.
I will miss out text's back and forth talking about the uniden SSB858 chassis cb radio's.
God's speed JJ

That's really sad news! I had the good fortune to QSO with him on several occasions. He was a fine operator and he will be greatly missed by many.

May your radio room in the hereafter be filled with the all the finest gear JJ......

RIP My good friend.

I've been worried recently. Normally he would call me every few weeks on WhatsApp.
I sure hate hearing this....
God's Speed. And God bless Luz and the rest of his family.

This is so sad to hear.

I am very proud to have called Jim a friend for 20 years.
Over the years we've exchanged advice, stories, and even equipment.
We never got to hear each other's voices except for one almost QSO where we confirmed on the forum the next day that we'd heard each other but couldn't make it through.
Jim was a very generous man and taught me a lot.
somehow it seems fitting right now that i am searching for a solution to the obsolete relays in his favorite chassis. Ive been thinking about him a lot lately.

Jim, if somehow you get this message, i just want to say thank you for everything you've given me, and everyone else who knew you, and if you somehow hear me on the air, please throw a lamp across my room or something to let me know you heard me.
God speed my friend.
