What is your favorite Ham or CB Radio of all time?

Hmmm...Yaesu FT-102 because of the 3 of 6146 tubes, FT-450D Approx. 10 years of no problems or possibly Anytone AT-5555n2. Yaesu FT-450D final answer. Thanks,

Ham rig: the ICOM IC-7300. Full DSP, VFOs don't drift, Tx & Rx audio equalizers, lots of memories for favorite frequencies. CB rig: GE, model number TBD. It's 40 channel with SSB. My ICOM IC-706mkIIG with the "MARS Mod" is CB capable and has FM. Better turn down the power out. I really modded it for 60 meter use.

My favorite is HAM radio is the UV-5R because it makes makes that beautiful beep-kerchunk sound when I spam the PTT on my local repeater.

My Yaesu FT-807 that took over the role of my Icom 706 MKII for base, mobile and international use, after having gone to many Icom base stations. Started with a Drake TR-4, followed by a Swan SS-100. Confirmed 222 of 229 DX worked before life happened. The 807 is still on my desk and I still have the intention of getting back in!
Could you post a picture of the FT-807? I Googled it & came up with Nothing & I have never heard of that model either? What bands & modes does it cover & is it a base or a Mobile Radio?

I think my all time favorite mobile is the ICOM IC-2820H.
What a fantastic radio!
Wideband receive
amber green display. (amber is great for night driving. :)
over 500 memory channels(i really don't need more than 100)
DSTAR is a great upgrade but i never did the upgrade.
and the DTFF mic was a beast that never let me down
I really liked the removeable head unit. it allowed me to secure the radio under my dash and only have the head unit visible decluttering my dash.
Extremely reliable radio that had great transmission power and good reception.

Interesting that this contest came up, since i dropped my kenwood 26AT handheld in a creek last fall. :/
Please enter me in the contest. I could really use a handheld upgrade.

Hi, my name is Mark Gottlieb the first radio I owned was a cb radio called a cobra??? Sorry I forgot the model # it was 55 year's ago
I traded it for a marriage license and 5 years ago I bought a uniden 980ssb and got back into cb. Of course after almost 50 years of being married she told me I can use it if I don't put it in the car. I now use it in the basement. In March of this year my nephew brought me a anytone at5555nII for my 70th birthday
I love it and use it with a antron a99 antenna . I just listen to ham cause I don't have a license to talk yet but I'm working on it. Thats about it for now but I'll keep you guys informed when I get it.
I would love to win the radio to add to my collection.
Thanks markg690

My favorite, my Icom IC-706mkIIg. It does everything I want and it does it without any hiccup. I do like the Anytone AT-878 handy I have. It is great for portable service and had DMR as a bonus. For a citizens band radio, my President McKinley. It is AM/SSB. I use all 3 radios regularly.

My favorite HT of all time is my Icom Delta 1A because it is a tri-band (144mhz, 440mhz, 1.2gig, 5watts, 3.5watts and 1watt) that can monitor and display all three bands at once.
There is a separate volume control for each band. It is big (nicknamed "The Brick" by some).

I have so many favorites! But I have a big soft spot for the Icom IC-735.

Built like a tank. Super-reliable. Easy to use, even for a beginner. Easily modified for all-band transmit. Pretty hard to damage with SWR foldback etc. Still pops up on e-bay and other sites from time to time at a reasonable price.
It doesn't have the world's nicest receive audio, and it's definately not a monster on AM, but it does what it does do very very well.

Back in the 90's and early 2000's it was also the go-to HF radio for all the commercial fisherman out here on the west coast of Canada; and those guys don't mess around when it comes to gear. The 735 had a very solid reputation!

My favorite radio of all time is probably the Ranger RCI-2950. It's what I learned the most on after having used countless Cobra and Uniden models. With a Maco 5/8 wave omni at 50ft its "all conditions" Tx coverage was tough to beat in my area as long as it was aligned fairly frequently. It is the unit that taught me the importance of front-end filtering and quality control because my unit did not have much of either trait. Thankfully it was easy to work on because it was re-capped twice and mode switch replaced at least three times in the years I owned it. I don't have a picture of my old unit, so I chose a stock image that most closely resembled my old orange crush. 73!

Haven't had that many but my favorite by far is my Yaesu FT-710. Great receiver, great filtering and DNR, excellent TX audio. Easy to use menus, knobs and buttons. Excellent display plus output for external monitor. Added a CatTouch meter display which gives a 5-meters-at-once display plus all filter settings at a glance. I only do phone modes and don't own an amp but have worked 6 continents and much more with this rig. It's a pry-it-from-my-cold-dead-fingers radio to me.

Icom 737A - my first brand new ham radio after ICOM 720 that I got used. I liked the built in tuner and the antenna switch. Had good receive sensitivity. I used it several times for emergency traffic from hurricane disasters. It was simple to use and just worked. No tune finals.

I like the Galaxy 959 and 2547, I like the RCI 2950-70's as well.
I agree on the IC-735 as far as an HF radio over my FT450 which doesn't seem to have as good of a tone on receive.
I really like the Stalker IX 80 channel radios as well.
I guess really, I like whatever I have hooked up at the moment, hard to really pin 1 down.
