What is your favorite Ham or CB Radio of all time?

Hmm, this is a tough one.
HF radio it would be a toss up between my KX2 which l have activated over 450 SOTA summits with it, or my first radio IC-707 which was my first HF rig.
VHF HT, it would be what l use now, the IC V86 VHF radio. After changing radios as fast as most change their underwear, l settled with it. Longest contact was about 275 km HT with homebrew external antenna to a mobile.
CB, Galaxy DX949. Simply a basic SSB radio with great features. Always worked great and made many, many contacts.

Honestly, my most favorite ham rig I ever owned, would have to be the Kenwood TS 950 SDX. That radio sounded like a commercial radio station with silky smooth audio. I loved it.

I understand the rules, and wish to enter the contest.

Like the title says, what is your favorite ham or CB radio of all time (so far) and why? Please don't just give us a make/model - tell us why you like it!

My favorite radio(s) of all time, are the Icom IC-735. It was my first synthesized HF radio, that blew my mind as to how much better it was than some of the other clunkers I had before it. It is built to take a beating, and it did. It traveled with me on the road, got killed by an airline and came back to life good as new. I still have it and use it. My favorite VHF/UHF radio of all time, is the Icom IC-32AT. Again, built to take a beating, bullet proof front end and still lives to this day.

For me it is a kenwood TS440S although very old and lots of issues but can be repaired with the help from internet from Ham all over the world.
Decent power and multimode on HF. But for HT I prefer the RadioDdity 77 for a DMR simple and reliable. 73 de dv3rwr fr the Philippines

I have a 2004 Model with the darker readout that’s hard to read at an Angle but on
The plus side it has the Bi polar finals , from what I’ve Been told ranger changed to mosfets in 2006.

I got this radio in a pinch situation. My trusty 2950 went wonky on SSB and my little amp died which kicked me out of any good DX so I had to make the decision with a limited budget whether to get an amp and stick with AM for the time or get a radio. You guessed it, the radio. An Anytone AT 5555 Plus. It has been a great radio with good performance and nothing but good reports. It was again, a budget purchase but I will buy another newer model with the better noise blanking circuit. I was able to talk skip with the 40 watts until I got another little amplifier and I've talked a good portion of the world with it. I can't wait to get a little more height with the antenna to expand the fun. 73 UDX-483 MuddBucket Steve

I have a few radios now but the one I like the best is a Radioddity QT40 that I have in my vehicle. I like the old school type knobs instead of having to push a button several times to change bands or modes.
