"they move the rig near Belmont , LA. We've been working in Coushatta LA. Got to experience my first earthquake there. Strange sensation when the ground starts shaking you and everything around you"
OK, you are working up north west from here.
In "Redneck Louisiana" as it is known.
I am way down near Thibodaux in "Cajun Country"
We get the breeze from The Gulf of America/Mexico.
but I am not from here, and "sound funny" to everyone.
I usually get asked "where are you from?" Different accents
of English around the state. Different foods.
And a variation of French around here.
and some of us here in WWDX were recently posting
about early life in Los Angeles where "I am from"
We never mentioned the earthquakes there.
Back when I was about 12 and we lived "in the valley"
part of L.A. and they had that big earthquake. The cinder block
walls all fell down around our house. My toys flying off
the shelves. I was scared scared. we kept having after shocks.
got the nickname "Shakey Town" by the CBers. (Sylmar?)
