MegaWatt vs. Chinese Imitation 30 amp switching power supply comparison

Been awhile since I've been here, but I run my FT 450d on a megawatt 30 amp PS, and no problems here, my radio performs well on it....the fan inside the PS is quite too....
That's great news!!
I just bought one yesterday and am expecting it to arrive early part of next week..
Sounds like a very nice power supply and has a lot satisfying owners..

Been running the S400-12 for a while now on an Icom 746. I've also used a 2 pill Toshiba 2879 amp on it as well. It stays on most of time I am home. I just unplug it when I am at work or leave the house for a long duration. The thing has been flawless thus far and no hash on any freq that I am able to receive with my radio. Glad to have it and wouldn't hesitate to purchase another. Next one will be the S700-12. That is if the one I have ever quits! Great product and the support is above and beyond what most would get elsewhere IMO. Keep up the great work Megawatt!!(y):)

Dude you are going to be waiting for a while. I recently ran my S400's in what might have been considered to be abuse. Full load 24 hours a day I used them to electrolysis away rust on three sections of a Rohn tower. The process worked great and the power supplies had no detrimental effects. Back on the work bench power radios and amplifiers.

Anyone had the fan start making noise and if so how you fixed it? I have the 36 amp megawatt. Thanks.
Sometime when dust or dirt get in the fan bushing is can make noise. A drop of oil on the bushing will fix it or you can PM me and I will take care of it. All the units will soon be equipped with a duel ball bearing fans. Just testing is now.

Mine makes a noise every once in a while like the fan is out of balance. Tap it a few times and it goes away. Only does this when the fan is dirty. I blow the unit out and it works flawlessly again!! But yes the fan could be a bit more quiet. Not that it's that bad, but it's just a touch louder than I would like it to be. As far as performance, the s400-12 has been a workhorse for me and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed it!! Freer supplies with feet CS!! Hard to beat that!!!
