need some help setting up hi fi audio

There are useful tones below 100hz even if everyone's receiver can't hear them. If you have enough testosterone those low tones will keep the negative peaks from hitting the baseline while positive peaks can exceed 100%. For that reason I wouldn't be interested in that element.

How much asymmetry varies from person to person. Proper phasing is important here. As you probably know this is all useless if your transmitter isn't capable of passing those frequencies.

hello there i picked up my hi fi stuff the other week and i want that clean compressed mustang 131 sound
at the moment its like motor mouth maul fills the speaker and bass but i want that real hi fi sound

im running a stickman built galaxy 2917 direct audio injected
benringer pro studio audio setup driving the galaxy

anyone know how to fine tune the beringer components i messed with it some and cleaned it up but its not giving me the real compressed sound im after

please reply
If you wanna sound just like 131 you're gonna need to have the guy who built his transmitter build you one. Easier said than done but the only audio I hear that sounds like 131's are the people using Dave's transmitters. Good luck. You'll need it.73

Its easier to buy an apache labs anan and good microphone. Not only an amazing transmitter but receiver too.

It would be cool to have the Dave transmitter but it's not in the cards for most of us.

this one isn't noise cancelling but perhaps you might like it better.

You said it. I'm a local of sidwinders. I've only had one qso with him. It was a very nice one at that but the odds of being rebuffed by asking if he would build me one being in the astronomical range I decided it wouldn't be a good idea I just let it go and enjoyed the qso. If I spoke him on a regular basis for over a year or so I might go ahead and bring up the subject but beyond that I know I'm definitely not in the circle and have no chance of getting one, so why even ask. As far as the Apache I definitely agree. I've never actually heard one but from what I read it's a terrific SDR transceiver and for the close to $3,000 asking price I'm sure it's a high technology built terrific performer on AM. as well as SSB. It's very good advice, about the Apache that is. I don't know what Dave gets for those transmitters but I'm sure it's close to what they're asking for the Apache or maybe even more I don't know and it's not important because as you mentioned it's just not in the cards for most of us. 73

FlexRadio Flex-5000A might be a good start for a plebeian, like me!
Apache labs Anan looks sweet also!

If anyone is looking to go the old school route, check out this PDF I attached, this thing (Panaxis AM100) can pass a frequency response of 20-20KHz, and offers carrier control (including asymmetrical modulation), it is configured for commercial broadcast band, but someone can get creative and change that.. Also the output is extremely low for part 15 compliance, but :censored:.
Where there's a will, there's a way. (y)

Most of you have seen this before, but somebody new might find it useful.
The PDF contains enough information to re-create the device, Best Regards.
-LeapFrog

P.S. I'll have you notice this device requires -15v and +15v, hMMM that's odd.. I feel like I've seen that before somewhere...

The flex is a good rig as long as you never intend to transmit on 11 meters with it...Unless someone has recently came up with a work around for that.

I think the lower end anan rigs have been discontinued and are out of stock at most places. The anan 10 was $900 and the anan 100b was $1400 from HRO. I haven't really priced the Flex radios but I believe they are much more expensive. That's understandable when you consider how the Flex and Anan were developed differently.

Right on 543, I will probably consider building a modern version of the Panaxis am100, If I really want a motormouth style "Hi fidelity" (huge freq. passing) capable board to mod a "mudduck" am only radio with, I just don't think it will be very "spectrally pure" (IMD wise), much beyond 100% modulation; but I really don't know, the manual says it can do 300% 'asymmetrical' modulation.

I always assumed those Flex SDR rigs were just were just as easily as easily modified 411 meters just like any other HF. Learn something new everyday. Not like I was buying one anyway. think I recall a thread or reply on a thread that those Flex radios sounded incredible and was mention that work and are being used on 11 meters. Parently I was wrong. Thanks 73 for some reason the voice to text on my Galaxy j7 doesn't work very well when using it on this form. That's why my reply is all fucked up. I'm tired of going back and correcting every mistake that's made. This doesn't happen when I use voice to text on messaging or email. Only on this form. Maybe on other forms also but I don't belong to any other so I wouldn't know. Sorry for the screwed up reply but I think you get where I was going

I dont have squat under a 100hz but I sure can hit %150+ modulation with just my voice and some careful mic phasing. I want to say 68* out of phase is where mine is set.

I seem to remember hearing about guys hacking earlier Flex's for 11 meters but I believe they closed that door on newer ones, it seems that they really don't want their radios on 11.

What about class E transmitters?

Are they for sale? Or better yet "open source", sure would save me a lot of grief if I could buy one of these, the people on eBay are selling 1st gen MMM board clones for 95$, they didn't design it, the parts cost probably around 10$ and they want way too much mark-up. Don't get me started on my opinion of Asymod boards... Honestly they all want too much $ for what you get... (parts wise)

I could be mistaken but the gentleman that designed the MMM "Mauldulator" drew inspiration from the Panaxis AM-100? I think anyway.
