Colt ceases production of AR's

While it is unfortunate they've "caved in", it may slow down the
"assault weapons ban (against semi-autos)" the left wants so badly to come about.

In a move that has many people shaking their heads in disgust, the Connecticut-based company plans to exit the consumer rifle market altogether.

Now that's just sad, they could produce some bolt action unit and keep the rifle lineup, but at this point it feels like they are doing damage control.

Colt is not the only company making AR style weapons, and the model they make is over priced compared to other manufactures.
They are dropping it because its sales are dismal and not profitable.
This is a business decision.

They were probably planning this for a while and doing it now makes them look good and that will generate sales.

1964. Cold War over. All militaries severely downsize. Drafts ended by many.

Poodle-shooters issued worldwide.

“Okay” maybe if one has grenade launchers. Or can call for air, armor or artillery support.

But on their own haven't the penetration or range an unsupported rifleman had previously.

But, “can carry more rounds per man”.

Which is easier to conjure up: a ten ton truck, or an air support wing?

Could there be a reason other than the ones given for an inferior caliber? Ha, I should say so. Behind every blade of grass, a rifleman.

Granted, .276 Pederson or the post-war British .280 would have been “better” as a caliber choice. Would still have needed 20-years of field use to perfect. And still lacking. Same for the recent .264 American.

In the meantime, fuck AR-15s and their variants. An empty one isn’t even a club.

The rifleman was — and remains — the outstanding danger of Western Christian civilization when at war. Ability to think and execute. To solve the problem at hand.

A poodle shooter = your men aren’t citizens, but meat for the grinder. Abroad at war, or in face of tyranny at home.

Build all the AR clones you want. Believe 6.8-SPC is promising. Caseless ammo is here, and you ain’t gonna be on the distribution list.

The brass supply is no longer infinite.

I almost said that . Look how many " clones " are out there ? I can't figure S&W out ? Just keeping all there supposed ducks in a row I guess or don't want to go through what the big Pharma's just went through ? Too late for that anyway . ? Just as easy to buy upper/lower & build your own ! Like making a wire antenna ... More satisfaction & a Whole Lot less Grief !;) JMO

Yes they are higher cost but great quality. Can agree here with Jeff, now there are many high quality lowers and complete uppers. By doing your research one can now actually build their own high quality specialized defense weapon. It's a shame Colt will be dropping the M4, but that will increase the value for those who have an M4 moving it farther into collector category. Hang onto your M4 and build your own specialized ......one is none, two is one.
