HA, I took a turn in the dark on one of those. I think I see the theoretical point. (Luckily I won’t act on my version).

I haven’t any hurry on this. Guess I’ll make a central GP on the passenger inner fender. I need to go thru more of a plan for other 12V projects re this truck. I’d rather do it all from a single plan.

As it sits currently I’ll likely order up some braided strap and continue with RF bonding the times I’m home the next few months. Order the puck and an NMO mount, etc. Not much to report, IOW. Pics when I do.

Running hard in new job. Finally caught a break and ordered 3/4” flat-weave tinned-copper braid in 10’ sections. And put in an order with McMaster-Carr for the #10 sheet metal screws, flat washers and internal/external tooth washers recommended by K0BG.

I ordered more than this pickup will need. Will be glad to have yet more supplies in bag or cabinet. Other projects & vehicles.

Will put together (4) bonding assemblies for the 3.5” i.d. SS exhaust once I am positive of true o.d. Looks as though local big truck and auto parts suppliers can fit that need.

Am having a hard time connecting to BREEDLOVE MOUNTS. Hopefully that’s just a glitch.

No time for the pickup this trip home, but at least more supplies have shown up.

I’m gonna “borrow” some for the Peterbilt. Enough to strap across the (4) door hinges as I’ve that many 2-AWG lugs left over (till the right size arrives).

Hell, “home” is an aerodynamic all-aluminum 35’ travel trailer.

Do I have a SAME-enabled weather radio? Sure do, even have the optional exterior antenna PLUS the flashing strobe.

Most of my radios so equipped.

I live on the edge of Tornado Alley.

When the alarm sounds, I turn it off. There’s no where to run.

So, with the pickup you’re saying I might end my days riding the lightning, huh?

No sinner like an old sinner, HA.

I often cheat and use copper pipe scraps and a shop press...

Since divorce some years back my “garage” is the 8’ pickup bed with topper. Big as it is, a drill press wasn’t going to fit.

So, this brings us around to sons:

“Getting married, you are? Ah, excellent news! Talking about
a house, my, that’s swell. It’ll be a grand thing won’t it, a house with garage, and a shop, with even a sewing room for the Mrs!”

You’ll note the tiny misdirection re,

she can sew, can she not?

(That tangent — Millenial wife — could take awhile to explain to a confused but dear old Dad).

A drill press is still in my future.

I can say I’m enjoying coming home to enough supplies & tools to do not simply more electrical, but radio as well. Some things I’ve put off for years. A fine multimeter is this year.

Scrap will be in one of those cardboard steel-rimmed containers in someone’s Texas garage. Maybe even this year. (Remember those? Sort of like recalling cardboard oil cans). I’ll find one somewhere.

Has a couple of cars need radios, he does. That dream house, hmmm.

I get Ol’ Lightnin’ to galloping radio-wise (thanks for the needed name, HA), show him his mobile rig somehow works FAR BETTER on my prepped pickemup, well,

you really think that jarhead will accept that? (Ha!)

Had his choice of any bird the USMC flies as reward for being top of class. And I’ve not ever thought F-18 pilots less than competitive (though he flew Herks. Low, Slow. And Big . . . drag chute out the rear. That’s the real mission, IMO).

Mudduck, or . . . ?

Thanks.

Sounds strangely familiar...when I finally packed up 11 years ago all I had for a while was a old pickup and a toolbox.

You had to have slept in it for authenticity sake. Believability.

(I found I could lay on my side in the back seat, and the legs went across the console to the passenger side)

That it didn’t matter was the spiritual significance, eh?

Funny part is...I still have said pickup and toolbox.

Of course.
How could it be otherwise?

The Enemy intones, “One is the sum of things acquired”.

(An old pickemup is the bird flip to all that).

Once the boogaloo gets hetted up, an old pickup is like the story of the man with but one gun:

Beware,
as he likely knows how to use it.
