CONGRAT"S on getting your ticket!! First thing I want to tell you is everyone had to start from the beginning at one point, so don't worry about how you sound or making mistakes...find your local repeaters and start some conversations and LET them know you are a fresh ham, most will jump right...
Well i have ran ALOT of different amps and it sounds to me like you arent talking on SSB or on any Ham bands...i would just go with a Davemade 1x3...it already comes in a decent size cabinet and has a Fan to keep those finals cool! My 2 cent and others will differ!!
Hey guys i wanted to post and remind those that there is a large hamfest in Jackson, Ms on Jan 24th-25th... Not sure if there will be anybody from the forum is going or not, but if so hope to meet ya
Here is a link: Capital City Hamfest
What you are saying is somewhat true...but it will have to do till i get my towers up later in the year...then i can be compaired to a ZRI corvette or callaway twin turbo...
The kenwood ts 2000 is a nice rig and priced very well...after all was said and done i went with the yaesu FTDX5000 with was only $5400 (without all the adds)....the icom was such a nice rig but after playing with the 5000 and the 7700 (not the 7800 witch is $9000) it came down to a preference!!
I wasnt planning on the purchase of one because the price just doesnt make any since being $300 and all...i have about 10 acres of property!! BUT..i have a guy who has one still in the shipping package and decided to go another route..i can get it for around $150 and i figured id try it!
OK...does anyone here have any experiance with the Buckmaster OCF 8 band Dipole? Will be talking on 160 locally (150 mile radious) and will be bouncing around all bands ! I wanted to see what yall think!!!
I think i would have a stroke if i was near 225 feet of tower folding down over me and after i got done having my fred sandford moment i would be kicking that tractor driver A$$ mighty hard:bdh:
SUM BEACH...that is one "MASSIVE" stack of metal...that took some crazy enginering on there behalf ....wonder if they would sell me some sections:drool:
Well as soon as i get it all setup i will take many pics for sure...dont think i can swing the Alpha right now, thats going to have to come next christmas or mid life crisses..witch ever comes first!!i will probably just stick a Heathkit SB220 behind it untill then. Yeah the Heils can sound...
