Well just for the fun of it I tried it. Probably around 75 watts into it on low (small box output) and it talked fine. Don't know what kind of output it had but may know in a couple of days. I did not have a meter handy and did not talk on it but maybe 1 minute all together. No noticeable change...

So does that mean that anything over 18 watts is going to overdrive them or is it anything over 4 1/2 watt would overdrive them?

Can a TS500v be used with a driver? I have a smaller driver that is around 100 watts that I was going to use to drvie a TS500v. Is this a good idea or something that you would stay away from? I know this has probably been asked before but I can not find it in a search.

Saw the 2nd Elkin 175 box today. It was in need of repair and at a local radio shop. Same as the one I have. Number was 1175 the best I could tell on the back.

That's about it. On/Off, Rec/Off, High/Low. Elkin 175. Can't tell you much more than that. Has a number on the back written in ink, 1131 where you tag is to show Ant. in or out. Not much smaller than the SuperStar 250 boxes. It is the only trans type box from Elkin I have ever seen.

This is a mobile box. I will look at it and get back to you in a little while. It was just the only one I have ever seen or heard of. It is not tube type.

Thanks for the information guys. I have tried grounding the radio to everywhere but the dirt. Nothing seems to work. If the ANL worked in the radio I think that would be all I needed but it does not. I think it's just time to get a new radio. I was thinking that it would probably be best to buy...
