I am running 4 to within 8 inches of my box. It then goes into a fuse block in the back of my truck. Out of it is the original 8 to the box with the (2) 35 amp fuses. Sometimes I over fuse my stuff but I am not in it to win any competition, just talk around here. Of course this box, the same box...
Ok here I go again with the jumping in on another post. I am running a 102". I have tried everything to ground the radio better but nothing works any better. My radio is mounted to plastic but I have the frame grounded to the truck frame. The antenna is on a tool box that I guess may not be...
I hate to jump on anothers post but I have a similar problem. I have tried every ground I can to take the noise out of my radio. Nothing seems to work. Tonight after reading this post, I unhooked the coax from my radio and the noise went away. Would this lead you to believe that the problem is...
Well just for the fun of it I tried it. Probably around 75 watts into it on low (small box output) and it talked fine. Don't know what kind of output it had but may know in a couple of days. I did not have a meter handy and did not talk on it but maybe 1 minute all together. No noticeable change...
Can a TS500v be used with a driver? I have a smaller driver that is around 100 watts that I was going to use to drvie a TS500v. Is this a good idea or something that you would stay away from? I know this has probably been asked before but I can not find it in a search.
Saw the 2nd Elkin 175 box today. It was in need of repair and at a local radio shop. Same as the one I have. Number was 1175 the best I could tell on the back.
I don't know anything other than that. It was purchased a long time ago and not by me. Just thought I might could get a little information about them. This is the only one I have ever seen. It was property of a radio shop in my area. He used it for his personal radio until his health got bad and...
That's about it. On/Off, Rec/Off, High/Low. Elkin 175. Can't tell you much more than that. Has a number on the back written in ink, 1131 where you tag is to show Ant. in or out. Not much smaller than the SuperStar 250 boxes. It is the only trans type box from Elkin I have ever seen.
This is a mobile box. I will look at it and get back to you in a little while. It was just the only one I have ever seen or heard of. It is not tube type.
Thanks for the information guys. I have tried grounding the radio to everywhere but the dirt. Nothing seems to work. If the ANL worked in the radio I think that would be all I needed but it does not. I think it's just time to get a new radio. I was thinking that it would probably be best to buy...
I googled the 2950 and it is showing as a Ranger. Is that what it is or did I get the wrong radio? I have never seen a ranger radio. As I was saying earlier I have not messed with these things for years as far as buying new things. I only talk on my old junk when hunting season is in usually. I...
I have a TS 500V that is around 15-20 years old. It still works but the pre-amp seems to be broken. This has happened 2 times in the past. Once about 10 years ago and the latest about 3 years ago. I have not been using it since that time. When your using the unit you have to cut the power off on...
I have not been keeping up with the cb business for years. My current radio is a SuperStar 121 chrome face that is old as dirt. It has a few problems but still works. The main problem I am having is motor noise in this radio. Always had it and guess always will. Other radios in my truck do not...
