ok, so if i will burn up the transformer if i do it that way, can i put a heavy duty switch in line to switch from the power supply to the 12v input source?

i have a two pll (sc2879) fat boy base amplifier hooked up to my base. i want some pretty good power for my mobile, so i was wondering can i put some cables in the amp and run battery power into the amp and just bypass the built in power supply and get the same performance assuming im driving...

hey man, i ran a "cheesy" microphone on mine when i had it and everyone told me it sounded fantastic. it is made by superstar, its called a mighty mini base. its basically a little silver box with a ptt button on the front and a small stem sticking out of the top of it with the element on the...
i just had a cobra cam 89 given to me. it is in very good shape and very clean outside and inside. was wondering if anyone knew any modifications or tricks to really wake this radio up from the dead. i have already tweaked the power output on it. it now dead keys at 3.5 watts and swings to...
well guys, i figured it out. i know have my two 102" steel whips on VERY sturdy mounts. but, as i kept adding heighth to the whip, first with a 6" extension. that dropped my swr from about a 2.2 or so to down to about 1.6. then, i went to the local pilot and bought two 4" heavy duty springs...
i know a couple people that have had light problems with that same meter. as a matter of fact, i am saving my pennies to buy one. the lights have a loose solder joints in there. i think if you redo the solder joints in there you should have no other problems in there. if you dont have a...
a friend of mine has a set of browning coil antennas on his pickup and has a flat match all the way across. i thought about trying those, but i dont want the same thing, i would like to be different. maybe the k40 coil antenna i saw at the pilot down the road? are those worth the 70 bucks or not?
i tried a 6" shaft from my wilson 2000 trucker antenna on one side of the truck so that one of the 102's was higher, and it dropped from being a 2.2:1 to about a 1.7:1. if i add a shaft on the other side, it should drop the swr even more in theory right?
