I got one about six months ago for $99 after rebate and I am happy with it. The meter light burned out and when I went to replace it like a dumby I failed to turn off the radio and it damaged something when I put the iron to it ! It's in the car that I drive during day light hours anyway. Also...
I have heard those guys for years and can't stand the way they sound, sorry I just don't get it. SSB communications is what it is, it does not ned to be that wide.
It's a AM radio only, it was keying 6 and swinging to 10. The wife thought she would do me a favor and turn the little amp off during the day and did not turn it back on when she called for me, it does not have a standby mode, oops ! I looked in a H&Y cat. and could not find the driver for sale...
I think the final went out on the Dwight D. Out-put power is about a 1/4 watt. On a heat sink there is a transistor C1969 (that must be the final) also there is one marked C2028/2, is that the driver ? Should I replace both or just the final ? Thanks.
There is no 10 meter local ragchewing at all in Austin, TX. I have tried to get ARO's interested with out any luck. So I go down to the CB band, go figure ? ( or 75 meters )
This is strange. I have an old outside thermometer in the shack that I have had for more than 10 years. I have used no less than 15 or 20 diffrent CB's and they all have interfered with the thermometer. I just noticed the Dwight D does not !?
