The difference in rx overall sound between usb and lsb is about normal, what Id expect. Also, to mention rx on usb in how other stations sound is normal as well. Its just the tx Audio quality on usb thats off. I do want to thank everyone that took the time to try and help, it is appreciated...

Ok, cracked the secret technique of making the vox work. You have to make sure squelch is up to point its quieting static etc. Then make sure vox is turned on via menu #16. In case anyone cares. 999,BC,Canada

No vox jack on back. I just assumed with turning it on in menu, and using stock mic as is, it would work. Its advertised as having vox and its certainly got 2 settings in its menu. Not sure whats up with getting it to work. 999,BC,Canada

So on Q5N2, to access service menu, you hold in menu and mode buttons and then power up radio, then push sequentially the next 6 buttons to enter service menu. That works fine for me. Then turn channel selector knob to cycle through menu items. Works fine for me. The part I'm not figuring here...

So, I have the Q5N2, and so far I'm pretty impressed. I'm now running mine with a Ur6qw 8 band equilizer along with a Yaesu YM-33 dynamic desk mic. Nothing but flowers on the audio there. So, I'm curious about opening up tx bandwidth via the service menu. I dont know what these radio's do stock...
