Solarcon IMAX 2000 DISCONTINUED

The A99/IMAX are both WIRE Antennas...they are just sealed in Fiberglass due to construction materials mandated by the government to keep installers/users from killing themselves via electrocution from coming in contact with electric lines.
Nothing more than $15 of wire and a simple LC matching network to make them 50 Ohms at feedpoint.
The ridiculous gain numbers some use to sell they're product are the true lies. Take a Quarter wave vertical ground plane and all the others side by side at the exact height, same coax, same radio output...99% of the time No difference in signal or performance.
Most of my antennas are all Homebrew wire designs for HF usage. None cost me more than $150 because, I use top quality insulators, feedline and support ropes.
I work the world! I work stations many times other op's on frequency can't hear as well as I do and my highest wire antenna is about 45ft above ground.
It's not Rocket science, it just takes EFFORT to build and install a good set-up to work with.
All the Best

I will say it again, CB is a dying hobby. There are very few quality manufacturs left producing only CB equipment(exports don't count because they are not legal). Cobra is now crap from what I have heard and read here, Uniden is all that is left. It might be a slow down hill drop but it is a drop. Hang on to you old grear and learn to make antennas...

Truth, It's been on it's deathbed for quite a while and is appropriate, if one likes their equipment, better hang on to it, going, going, gone.............

Do you have any tall trees? like 20-30+ ft apart?
Pull a rope between them......if possible make the broadside face East and West direction...but not critical...
And as High up as possible 30ft or more!
