Our farm is at the top of a mountain (5600' ele.) Except for a small level portion where the farm house is, our property heads downhill til it reaches the river. I recently added an attached room to our garage for a new shop and tool storage. I was considering moving my station there too, but...
Hit the airwaves at 10 AM. 36-38 busy, but everyone in the mud in my receive. Went to 26.805FM and made 6 contacts within 15 minutes. Three stations in PA, 2 in Illinois. and 402 in London England. Us staions couldn't hear London but I had him 10 over. Had a good 40 minute QSO.
After lunch...
I agree with Jeff. The early Texas Stars (unmolested) with 2879s are excellent. Also Boomer 250s (yellow face) also had 2879s and active biasing and were high quality amps. I still prefer the TX amps, but I haven't seen one for sale in like forever.

I recommend the TX 250 or Tx350. Built by Steve Canfield back in the 80s. Hard to find, and not cheap if you do find one. But great amps and bulletproof. First set of amps with the heat sink on top where it should have always been, they used 2879 and RF120 transistors (RF120s the best)

The doctor came by to give me my knee treatment today, and she said to stay off of my feet for a couple of days. So, no walk down to the shack for DXin'. So, sorry FlyBoy, I missed you. Lo Siento, Amigo. 73.

No WDX luck today, but logged 26 good contacts throughout the day. While I was scrolling down to 26.805, I stopped at 26.895 AM and talked to a group of good old boys out of Virginia, W. Virginia, N. Carolina, and Tennessee. Good 45 minute chat.

I guess it was something local. Strange because no other sites were affected. When I tried to load WWDX, first I would get," this site took too long to respond." Then," WWDX is not available." It was like that all day. Back to normal next morning. ?????

37 lower was busy with the same group of regulars yesterday, so I was tuning around and came across several stations using 27.400 lower. I figured it was a local group somewhere, but then I thought I heard 23 BC Coyote. Was that you, Sean?? I didn't QSK, because I was shutting down for the daily...
36 thru 44 was totally jammed up on LSB mid afternoon yesterday, so I tried the "zero" channels and also FM below 26.965. Lot of action there (especially 26.805) after calling CQ-Dx.
